Half Day at Perth Wake Park

Well anyone who enjoys water sports especially wake boarding would love this spot. Perth Wake Park is the only cable wakeboard park in Western Australia. It is located 30 minutes south of Perth city at the Mundijong Rd, Kwinana Freeway exit.

The park offers a range of features including a full size main cable, a beginner specific cable, a step up pool for advanced riders, a café, pro shop and hire shop.

We (me Cathal and Simon) were there for just a half day but had so much fun and are planning on another trip soon. Because I was to busy enjoying myself I only got the 1 photo but promise next time I’ll get more and a video.

ACDC Rock or Bust Perth

What can I say it’s ACDC. Thought I’d never get to see them live but so glad I did. I have been to more concerts than I can count and I truly believe this was the best.

The concert started with The Hives warming the crowd up and then of course ACDC taking over and rocking the place.

I went to this concert with my friends Cathal and Shelly. Before we went we had a few beers. Then when it was time to go we went in style with an Uber black taxi which was a 2015 Holden Caprice. Once there we continued drinking Strongbow cider yum. And after the concert like pretty much everyone else we headed for some fast food and ended up getting McDonalds. Not much more I can say about the concert except WOW!!!

Ill post a couple photo’s and a 10 minute video but you’ll have to excuse the video quality as it was taken off my phone. It’s actually really good HD quality but a little shaky and once uploaded will probably not be as good as the original.

My First Week In Perth

Well it’s been quite a week within the first 2 days of arriving i had my bike (Kelly) and have met quite a range of people from old friends to new friends but I have been quite slack at getting photo’s thus far but I promise I will start to take more so that there is less writing and more photo’s.

One of the first rides on Kelly was down to Scubanautics in Rockingham to get the battery replaced in my dive computer (a suunto D4i), about a 40 minute ride from where I live with Tin Tin and his about to be wife Lisa (wedding is in a few days). Anyway after a great chat with the local divers there the heat was getting to me a bit so I rode up to the Caltex garage about 40 meters away to get a drink and noticed about 1000 motorcycles across the road. I immediately asked the attendant what was happening and behind me a really nice Kiwi guy (New Zealander like me Perth is full of us) told me that it is a charity ride for abused children. He then told me that him and a bunch of friends were about to go for a ride and asked if I’d like to join which of course I said yes but noticing they were all on Harley’s and Triumph’s and I was on a Japanese sports bike I asked if this was ok which he said of course no problem at all. I was so excited just 3 days in Perth and I was already making new friends and being asked to go for a ride. We rode down to a bar about an hours ride away in Ravenswood called the Thirsty Camel. Once there we had a quite beer then rode back to Perth with everyone splitting off at there closest motorway exit to where they lived and because I lived the furthest away I ended up being the last one left which didn’t bother me at all as I ride alone all the time. Sorry I have no photo’s of this but like I said I will take more in the future.

The following day Cathal and Shelly asked me to the beach with a bunch of there friends where we swam and drank a few beers in the sun. This was another amazing day. The day after that I went to AQWA The Aquarium of Western Australia which was pretty kool except for the touch pool where you are allowed to touch sharks and other marine life which personally I don’t agree with but everyone to there own I guess. Though they do do a lot of good work rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing marine life. The rest of my time here so far has just been me riding my bike all around the place through the city and out into the outback a small bit. In the 6 days I’ve had my bike I’ve done around 1100km of exploring with thousands more to come.

Moving to Perth

So after a lot of drama back home in New Zealand with my so called Best mate totally fucking me over and a true friend telling me to pack my shit up and move to Perth Australia I decided what the hell let’s do it. There’s a lot of other reasons for this move as well one of which is it’s so hard to make and save money in New Zealand especially in Queenstown where everything is over priced due to the tourism. And as sad as i am to be leaving there are going to be some great new adventures and opportunities to be had in Perth.

Now for anyone who has read my other blog from a few years ago http://www.ridingsoutheastasia.wordpress.com then you will know I’m a huge fan of travelling and just generally riding motorcycles and for anyone who hasn’t read it well now you too know I’m a huge fan of motorcycles. So with that being said the first thing on my mind even before i left NewZealand was getting myself a new set of wheels and it wasn’t long before i found a good bike (2 days to be exact). I got a great deal off gumtree for my new bike Kelly a Suzuki GS500.

I also have a great many other friends living here cheif among them Cathal and Shelly. I met Cathal while i was living in Peru when i was riding a motorcycle around South America and Shelly when they came to Thailand and they are actually the reason i went to Koh Phi Phi instead of Koh Tao (another spontaneous and epic adventure) and they are actually in a couple of my older posts here on this blog.

A New Adventure

Ok so it’s been a few years since I’ve made any posts but I’m now on a new adventure so thought I might make a few posts here to document it.

Anyway since my last post here I’ve actually been on a few other adventures which I’ll briefly describe before going onto the new one I’m on now.

First off I continued my diving course’s right up to dive-master. Then staying on Koh Phi Phi I got a job there working at Moskito Diving and lived there on the island for around a year guiding dive trips. After that I moved back to Queenstown New Zealand where I went back to being a chef and saved for a while and went to Mozambique on a 2 month dive trip with my friend Lobo who I met on Koh Phi Phi. I also had another dive adventure in Bali with my friend Alex who was also in Mozambique as well. While I was in Queenstown though I hosted a lot of couchsurfers and had some amazing adventures with them all around Queenstown and the lower south island of New Zealand.

Alright so there is obviously a lot more to be said about each of these adventures but at this time I can’t be bothered digging out all the old photo’s and trying to remember all the details however if anyone out there requests more info on any of these adventures then I will write a post or two about it.

But for now lets get to my new adventure which will be in the next post.
